Yes, that's his real name. He didn't change it for show-biz. Perhaps the greatest Jewish storyteller in history. He talked slowly, but always had audiences on the edge of their seats. He was a favorite in the Borscht Belt and on the Ed Sullivan Show.

My childhood friend and I are permanently bonded by Myron Cohen’s material. It was at it’s funniest while my friend lived in Miami. To this day his material is one of our greatest bonding tools same as some males bond using Monty Python bits. Simple, but always witty. His material is permanently embedded in my soul.

It isn’t much but for those of you who can stand it (and I can because I’m from that 1960’s generation) on the 4 DVD set of ED SULLIVAN SHOWS featuring the very first four appearances of the fab four, there is ONE, ONLY ONE , appearance by MYRON COHEN. And the whole set is nearly worth it just for that---ok, the BEATLES were great too, but Cohen was a smash on Sullivan even when he had to do clean material! Randy T.
