April 23,05 Just came back from the odeon in Cleveland. John had just started his second set and said he didn’t feel good and fell off his stool. They think it was a heart attack. I was in the third row to the right of the stage so I couldn’t see how he looked. There was silence for about 10 seconds, then the crowd started chanting until they saw he wasn’t joking. They then canceled the rest of the show.

I saw Dr. D. when I visited a friend at a small college in NH back in about 89. We didn’t know what we were in for. They just told us that some guy plays the piano and sings dirty stuff. Man I laughed my ass off!!!! Of course, the acid I took that night probably had something to do with it. I saw him again a few years later in Philly and he was just as good (with no A!). I always keep my eye out for him to come back around but I never see him advertised.

Saw John Valby in Buffalo, NY in the late 70’s early 80’s. He was perched ontop of Knickerbocker’s Bar - piano and all. We all sat in the parking lot and listened. He was awesome. Just heard he was in Tampa and we found out too late, will you be back in the Tampa Bay area, John???????
