The Buddy Hackett HBO specials were usaully taped at homes and then sold..dont think they were commercially available..they were done at LEAST 20 yrs ago...the best joke on them was "there IS NO SHIP!"

I saw Buddy at the Westbury Music Fair about a million years ago. He came out in a bath towel...and nothing else. Brought down the house without saying a word. Thank God there will be comedy when I go to join him.

One of the best things about being a Las vegan in the late 80’s and the early 90’s, as the corporate Vegas replaced the town where you had juice, was to be able to go see Buddy at the Desert Inn Showroom on Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays. He rented the room and put on his own incredible 2 hour shows, story after story, bodily fucntion after bodily function, the humor that could leave you joyously incontinent. He was great as he transitioned from story to story, left no thread unfinished and bludgeoned you into oblivion with his timing and language. True genius.

Loved Buddy. So funny. He signed a photo for me at the Holiday Inn in Burbank. I had a photo of Penny Singleton (Blondie) in my hand. He said, "Blondie. Is she here? Is she DRINKING AGAIN?" Penny was in her 80’s at the time. Now they are both gone. I got drunk the night I heard of his death. Real nice and fun of humor. Seemed like a litle boy.

My last post was in reference to Buddy Hackett and his Philipino Salad Boy skit. I only used his first name. Sorry.

I am trying to locate the skit about Buddy’s "Filipino Salad Boy". I saw him do it on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in the 1989 to 1990 time frame. I don’t know if it was something he regularly used in his act or if it was something he did impromptu on the show. Any info would be helpful.

Buddy wrote a book called "The naked mind of Buddy Hackett." It was a collection of his poetry. It can be found on the internet - I found a few available on alibris.com. As for a DVD version of the HBO shows, they will be available in about a year.
